Ahoj,
KATKA got baptized!!! Can I just say the Lord blesses us! He truly does lengthen your stride and make the path straight. So I got to go to the baptism! It was SOOO amazing! We really wanted to get an investigator to go with us and we had an appointment with her right before we were to catch the bus and go to Prague. So we are at the appointment and our investigators isn't coming but she is way talkative! We were trying so hard to get out of the apartment because we had 20 minutes to get to the bus station for the only bus that would get us to Prague in time for the baptism. The walk from that investigators house to the bus station is 30 minutes. So we are pushing it and our investigator is still talking and we can't do anything to get out of it. So we finally get onto the door step and call the elevator with 10 minutes before the bus leaves. The elevator comes and we take it and then we just start sprinting to the bus station. We are running past basically everyone in town and just trying so hard to make it in time. My marathon running companion is taking off and I am just running my little heart out to try to keep up and epically failing. (Luckily she hit every single cross walk at red and I got them as they were green so I never had a break but I did have time to catch up.) don't forget we are in boots with big winter coats and bulky bags too with water bottles.) So we just keep going and saying hi to everyone as we walk past and praying as hard as we can that we will make this bus so we can get to this baptism. Well somehow the Lord slowed down time, made it a shorter distance and carried me through. We made it to the nadrazi in about 7 minutes and were able to wait in line to get on the bus. WE MADE IT!!!! The Lord truly loves us. If you don't see that as a miracle, try this one out for size, So we were out trying to find service opportunities, what do you know. The place everyone kept telling us to go is closed when we have time to go. So we sit down and try to figure out what to do. We decide we will go contact people and ask about service. So we get up and walk to the city center across the street and the first lady we contact says, that is so strange that you choose to contact me. I used to work in that building and I was in charge of putting together the service opportunities. Let me just load up my grandson and walk with you to the information center where I can help you get what you are looking for. So we had a nice chat and then we walk into the information center and she looks around doesn't see what she wants walks into the back room and asked a friend for something and a few people get up to help. They start searching through files in the computer and talking to us and printing things off. SO she helped us get a 40+ double sided packet full of all the service opportunities in the city and some of the pages have more than one thing on each side! It is a ton of information. Not only did she do that but then she started to flip threw it and marked the ones that fit what we had told her we wanted. Things that would be good for us to do and then she would mark names and numbers of people we should talk to. She also gave us her name so we can use it to get an in with people. She was amazing! Not to mention the head guy at the information place came out and started talking to us. He is from Holland so he started to speak in English and we had a great conversation and got even more detailed information figured out for what would be best for us. Then we asked him if there was anything we could do for him at the information center. Usually everyone tells us no. But he thought and said well i am getting stuff translated into English for tourists. If I could get you to read through the material to make sure it sounds like English English, that it reads well and isn't Czech English that would be wonderful! So we have tons of opportunities for service, I am so excited!!! We are just working at contacting the people now. It is so exciting. It is harder than expected to get a hold of these people. WE chose two that we really liked and went to visit today. The one place is only open on Monday between 1 and 5 so we were excited that we were there at the perfect time! Unfortunately no one was there and the phone was off! So we called the other place and they said oh none of the leaders are here. Call back tomorrow morning at 2... WHAT!!! 2 am is so early! So we called back and gave them our information and stuff so who knows we may get a call bright and early one of these days!
There have been so many miracles everyday. I love seeing this work move forward and feeling my Saviors love for me. He is there for us, Just pray to Him, it is so simple! Love you tons and thanks for all the birthday wishes!
